Risk Framework Design
This family is for firms that need to design, redesign, or extend the infrastructure of their risk and resilience function. The buyers are usually new chief risk officers in the first six months of role, chief financial officers responding to a regulator, chief operating officers facing a critical-controls gap, or company secretaries asked to overhaul board reporting.
Risk Appetite and Tolerance Architecture
Board-approved risk appetite, expressed in language the board can defend in a crisis. We use severity-and-tolerance framing rather than likelihood-and-consequence colour grids. Severity tables are built across the consequence dimensions material to the firm, typically eight to ten dimensions. Impact tolerances are set per critical operation. Reporting is tier-mapped with a brevity gradient: detail at the project tier, summary at the executive leadership team, exception-and-scenario at the board.
The brevity gradient is deliberate. Each tier omits what the tier below manages, with traceability rules that mean every board statement traces back to register entries and language is constant across tiers. A typical engagement runs six to twelve weeks.
Critical Controls Architecture
The controls that matter for catastrophic loss, identified, mapped to bow-tie scenarios, and given defined assurance regimes. We follow Hopkins on critical controls, Rae on assurance, and IEC 31010 on technique selection. We are not interested in control catalogues that look comprehensive on paper and do nothing in operation. The deliverable is a critical-controls register that the board can use to govern.
Operational Resilience Programme
End-to-end operational resilience capability, sized from a single critical service through to a full enterprise programme. The work covers identification of important business services, dependency mapping, impact tolerance setting, severe-but-plausible scenario testing, and governance integration. We design to satisfy the regulatory requirements that apply to your jurisdiction (EU DORA, Australia CPS 230, Canada OSFI E-21, and the New Zealand FMA’s emerging expectations) while building capability that is genuinely useful, not just demonstrably compliant.
Board and Management Reporting Architecture
A multi-tier reporting pyramid running from frontline operations through executive leadership team to board. Three rules lock the gradient. Traceability: every board statement traces to register entries. Language constancy: severity and appetite vocabulary is identical across tiers. Suppression: each tier omits what the tier below manages. The result is reporting that the board can act on in two pages, not endure in twenty.

Build engagements are project-shaped: defined scope, fixed-price where the structure permits, written deliverables. We work with the firm’s existing leadership and risk team, not around them. We do not deliver framework documents that sit on a shelf. We deliver frameworks that change how the next ten board papers are written.
How We Differ from Alternatives
From a Big Four framework build, we differ in two respects. The principal stays on the engagement personally rather than supervising junior delivery, and the framework is methodologically grounded rather than templated. From a software-led integration, we differ in that the framework is platform-agnostic by design. The firm chooses tooling on its merits, not as a precondition of the build.
